Job Title: Tax Manager

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Tax Partner / Director

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Manager to join our tax team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing tax engagements, providing tax planning and advisory services to clients, and supervising tax staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax engagements, including tax planning, compliance, and advisory services
• Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients, including corporate and individual tax planning, tax restructuring, and tax controversy
• Supervise and review the work of tax staff, providing guidance and feedback as necessary
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, including identifying opportunities to provide additional services
• Stay up-to-date with tax laws, regulations, and industry developments
• Participate in firm-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of the tax practice
• Assist in the development and implementation of tax training programs for staff
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Tax Partner/Director

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
• Professional certification (CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in taxation, preferably with a public accounting firm
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and industry developments
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in tax software and technology
• You are a motivated and experienced tax professional

Nice to Have:

• Experience with tax planning and advisory services, including corporate and individual tax planning, tax restructuring, and tax controversy
• Knowledge of industry-specific tax regulations and standards (e.g. tax implications of financial instruments, tax implications of mergers and acquisitions)
• Experience with tax data analytics and data visualization tools
• Certification in taxation or tax-related certifications (e.g. CTP, CTA, etc.).
