We are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to work alongside the Finance Manager in overseeing the accounts departments of multiple organizations within our group.
This role will involve providing oversight across various accounting functions, managing a remote team, and driving the migration of accounting systems from a manual setup to QuickBooks.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing teams across multiple locations, introducing systems and processes to enhance the accounting function, and continuously updating the finance manual to align with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Finance Manager in maintaining and improving accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
Ensure financial records comply with regulations, including tax compliance.
Support year-end audit processes and financial accounting work.
Deliver accurate and timely month-end management accounts, including a KPI pack.
Produce weekly financial management reports for senior management.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, prepayments, accruals, and other accounting schedules.
Perform bank reconciliations, and monitor petty cash, foreign cash, and credit card transactions, ensuring all reconciliations are completed.
Prepare and submit monthly statutory returns, including VAT, withholding tax, pension, and other regulatory filings.
Manage monthly payroll processing.
Provide transactional support for the purchase and sales ledgers when required.
Oversee debt control and management to minimize outstanding receivables.
Assist with budgeting, budgetary control, and financial planning processes.
Liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement across accounting controls and processes to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with non-finance departments to ensure alignment on financial matters.
Supervise and manage branch accountants and senior accountants, including conducting staff appraisals, performance management, and training programs.
Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Manager as needed.

Requirements
Qualification:
Minimum of B.Sc in Accounting
First Degree must be in Accounting
Certified member of ICAN/ACCA
5 - 8 years core experience in accounting/management account
Excellent strategic planning skills
Ability to work independently and highly meticulous.
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of Oracle Financials or any other financial software
Accounting in use of QuickBooks: 2 years (Required).
Required Experience and Skills:
Significant experience in finance management, including overseeing accounts teams in multiple locations.
Proven experience in migrating from manual accounting systems to QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage remote teams and introduce new processes and systems to improve efficiency.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of accounting procedures, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of accountability within the accounting department.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Salary
N700,000 - N100,000 / month.
