Position Overview

• Waiters in a catering firm play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service during events. They are responsible for serving food and beverages efficiently, ensuring guests are satisfied, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Event Preparation:
  • Set up dining areas, tables, and buffet stations as per event specifications.
  • Ensure all utensils, glassware, and serving equipment are clean and properly arranged.
  • Assist in unpacking and setting up catering supplies at the event venue.
• Food and Beverage Service:
  • Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and courteously.
  • Provide menu information, including ingredients and special dietary accommodation, as required.
  • Refill drinks and replenish food stations to ensure a continuous service flow.
• Customer Interaction:
  • Greet guests warmly and respond to their inquiries and requests.
  • Handle guests are concerned professionally and escalate issues to the event supervisor if necessary.
  • Maintain a friendly and polite demeanor at all times.
• Cleanliness and Hygiene:
  • Follow food safety and hygiene regulations during service.
  • Clear tables and dispose of waste promptly and discreetly.
  • Assist in cleaning and packing up after events to restore the venue to its original state.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with chefs, event coordinators, and other staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support teammates during peak times or when additional assistance is required.
  • Participate in pre-event briefings to understand event-specific requirements.
• Additional Duties:
  • Assist with inventory checks of service items and supplies.
  • Provide feedback to the team about guest preferences or suggestions for improvement.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the event manager or supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

• Prior experience as a waiter or in a customer-facing role (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Professional appearance and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
