About the Role
We are seeking to employ a Warehouse Section Head who will be crucial in managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
The individual will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and smooth functioning of your designated area while adhering to safety protocols and optimizing productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct responsibility over the assigned warehouse and its team.
Collect accurate data and send relevant periodic reports regarding the assigned warehouse as instructed by the warehouse Manager.
Represent the Warehouse Manager on matters relating to the assigned Warehouse when absent.
Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of assigned junior members of the warehouse team, ensuring that they report to work on time, do their work as required and always work as a team.
Ensure that BURN Warehouse procedures for all materials(Finished Goods, Raw materials, Scrap, Trash etc.) are observed at all times.
Issue and record movements of warehouse items as instructed by the Warehouse Team leader.
Assist in offering leadership and training for key warehouse activities like Stock takes and Cycle counts.
Transfer incoming items and materials to their specified locations on the racks.
Ensure a safe and orderly material organization in the factory.
Check the remaining stock of relevant items and prompt the manager to re-order.
Enter details of all movements, in and out, of items and materials
Be honest, punctual and carry out work to the best quality possible, whilst instilling the same values in juniors.
Promptly report any inventory-related issues or problems in the factory to the Warehouse Manager, and, where possible, assist in problem solving.
Assist the Warehouse Management in ensuring that the best operation practices are observed by everyone operating and handling equipment, regardless of department.
Develop personal and team-based growth opportunities and continuous improvement strategies.
Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager and the relevant BURN Warehouse Management team members.
Requirements
B.Sc / HND in any course from a reputable university.
3 years work experience in factory and warehouse operations and equipment use.
Physically fit to drive a forklift, batching, lifting heavy items and arranging patterns.
Good head for calculations, reconciliations, stock count and warehouse documentation.
Friendly disposition to work with diverse teams in the production line, dispatch, and QC.
Ability to adapt to changing work environments, timing, and processes.
A positive mindset to offer solutions to operational problems.
Ability to use Ms Excel as an inventory tool and generate reports.
Honest and able to put in extra man-hours during emergencies.
Strong Knowledge of Warehouse security SOP and equipment maintenance.
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written and must speak the Hausa language.
Ability to effectively manage a team, delegate and get results.
