A Product Manager is an outstanding individual who combines the communications skills to build strong professional relationships with the technical skills to develop compelling solutions that accomplish our customers’ business imperatives.
The PM partners with an Account Manager to drive revenue growth for Layer3 by delivering business success to our customers.
PMs also work collaboratively within Layer3 to highlight emerging customer requirements and use cases, convey the competitive landscape, and coordinate with Layer3 and OEM-partner professional services organizations to ensure implementations meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
What we will challenge you to achieve:
Provides pre-sales technical consultation as a domain specialist (SME) for the design, engineering, sale, and implementation of sophisticated products, applications, and solutions.
Collaborates with sales teams, vendors, and industry partners in assessing potential application of our products ensuring that optimum systems solutions are provided to new and existing customers.
Develops and implement technical sales plans and proposals (RFP, RFQ) to grow Layer3's business in a driven and opportunity-filled sales environment.
Originates and architect detailed design, engineering, and implementation specifications for next-generation networks and solutions.
Use your outstanding industry and product knowledge to engage and influence customer technology strategies through showcasing Layer3’s solutions during technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, proof of concept, and trial engagements.
Builds, develops, and maintains strong professional relationships with customer IT decision-makers and industry partner community.
Deliver training and support to our Sales team and Engineers.

What you need to have
This role is for a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer that will have broad Service Provider and enterprise knowledge.
Good understanding of Network, Security, Cloud and Compute and Storage
Proficient in using Cisco, Juniper and Fortinet Configuration Portal to build Bill of Material
The Presales Architect will partner with Layer3 Account Managers and other Professional Services team peers to find and build solutions for SP and Enterprise customers.
Broad knowledge of the SP business and technologies is a must. We are looking for a fast learner with capacity for many subjects. Deep knowledge of core routing, edge routing, access routing, backhaul routing, data center, virtualization, edge compute. With preference for Juniper, Cisco and other OEM product knowledge.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical/pre-sales role as a Sales or Systems Engineer.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and related field or equivalent experience.
Experience designing/engineering LAN/WAN, Campus, Data Center, Security, and Metro Ethernet solutions.
Experience implementing and operating mid-large-scale Campus and Enterprise Networking and Security solutions.
Knowledge of Juniper product line, key competitors, and vertical market use cases.
Confirmed understanding and hands-on expertise with networking industry technologies across routing, switching, and security technology domains.
Strong interpersonal, relationship, and communication skills with experience in customer-facing sales activities.
Proven technical capability, ability to learn quickly, and apply skills in new protocols and applications.
Requirements
What we would love you to have:
Experience crafting/building data center and campus networks, as well as software-defined networks
JNCIE, CCIE, RHCE, or other expert-level industry certification is desired.
