Job Title: Dietician

Location: Benin, Edo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• This role is responsible for translating scientific information about nutrition into practical advice tohelp patients make health-conscious decisions about their foods.
• The dietitian will also assess, diagnose and treat diet-related problems aimed to raise awareness of the link between food andhealth to prevent future problems.

Responsibilities
Clinical Service Delivery:

• Practice as a member of an interdisciplinary team to determine nutritional needs of patientsand to plan normal and therapeutic menus.
• Plan, calculate and transcribe therapeutic diet into food according to prescription.
• Supervision and preparation of special diets
• Feeding of the critically ill, via the preparation ofNasogastric Tube feeds.
• Responsible for the nutritional rehabilitation of the malnourished adults and children in thehospital.
• Responsible for food services
• Ensures that food service policies and procedures are available and implemented to guidepersonnel
• Routine inspection of the kitchen for hygiene and proper use of personal protectiveequipment.
• Answer all questions and concerns of the patients, providing them with appropriateresponses and putting the patient’s condition into the context of theirneeds.
• Provide advice, teaching and instruction to patients to ensure consistent approach to patientcare.
• Communicate effectively with patients to maximize recuperation and to ensureunderstanding of condition.
• Ensure that patients are appropriately informed and reassured of patient’s dietary needs.

• 95% error reduction in the development and implementation of personalized nutrition plans
• 90% Patient satisfaction scores related to improvement in patient health outcomes.

Job Requirements
Education:

• Minimum Requirements: B.Sc / HND in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or Food Science / Culinary Science.
• Added Advantage: Membership of the Dietetics Council of Nigeria.

Experience:

• Work Experience: Minimum: 2 years
• Added Advantage: 5 years.
