Position Overview

• The Deck Crew – Crane Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining crane equipment to support cargo handling, lifting operations, and tank preparation activities on offshore facilities. The role includes supporting tank maintenance and isolation tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to the smooth operation of deck activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate offshore cranes for lifting, moving, and positioning equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Support cargo tank maintenance, including:
  • Sampling (pre/post-export, mid-month, and monthly).
  • Hatch opening, closing, and greasing for cargo and ballast tanks.
  • Isolation of cargo and ballast pumps via skillets and valve operations.
• Perform routine checks and greasing of valves, including purge, IG inlet, fresh air inlet, and 3-way valves.
• Assist in the blinding, removal, and reinstatement of bunkering hose reels for methanol, freshwater, and diesel.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team on pump room cleaning, bilge draining, and tank entry preparation.
• Ensure the safe operation and routine maintenance of crane equipment to minimize downtime.
• Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of work areas.
• Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform other deck and crane support duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A technical certificate in crane operation is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of offshore crane operation experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
• Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Certifications:

• Offshore safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
• Crane Operator certification (e.g., API RP 2D or equivalent).
• Working at Heights certification is an advantage.

Skills:

• Proficient in operating pedestal-mounted offshore cranes.
• Familiarity with cargo tank and pump room operations.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures during lifting and cargo handling.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
