Job Title: Technical Sales Manager, Dairy West Africa
IFF Health & Biosciences (H&B) has a rich history of scientific discoveries that have enabled countless innovations and we're constantly looking for more people in more territories to position IFF and our solutions for the long term in Emerging Markets.
Today, we’re searching for a Dairy Technical Sales Manager to join our IFF H&B team in Nigeria. An experienced candidate with relevant technical and/or value selling experience and ideally an extensive network.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for growing our Cultures and Dairy Enzymes business & activities in West Africa
Identify and evaluate new market trends/opportunities and develop these opportunities in Fermented & Neutral Dairy segments to grow IFF’s market share.
Strengthen relationships with targeted decision makers with existing and potential customers in order to position IFF H&B as the preferred strategic supplier
Plan, prepare and supervise lab or production scale trials at Dairy factories, with the back-up support of our regional Technical Application specialists.
Accountable for prices & contract negotiations with customers; managing & developing IFF Distributor partners in the territory to maximize the penetration in West Africa
Develop long term sales plans for key customers and accounts, monitor and adapt sales activities aiming at reaching IFF’s industry strategy and financial objectives
Work in a matrix organization to ensure IFF’s sales targets, deliver the best customer experience by managing logistics, supply chain and customer service activities
Prepare sales forecast, monitor sales volume, revenue and resource spend against forecast to identify problem areas and make plan to regain market
Actively promote IFF’s H&B profile at conferences, tradeshows and industry seminars to foster/maintain client relationships aimed at increasing the awareness and corporate identity of IFF H&B as the leading supplier of Cultures and Dairy Enzymes
Key Requirements
Degree in Food Science and Technology, or Dairy Technologist.
Minimum 5-10 years of working experience in the listed fields
Technical background from the Dairy Industry within R&D, Product Development, Production, or Quality Assurance, or Technical Sales Manager (Ingredients Solutions or Raw materials).
In-depth experience in Cultures and Dairy Enzymes would be an advantage.
Demonstrated high technical skills, as well as commercial acumen.
Ability to coordinate all team members to achieve the business opportunities.
Ability to listen to specific customer/market needs and have the capability to convert customer pain to business opportunities.
Positive attitude – Achiever, self-motivated, highly persistent in following up and willingness to develop the business.
Highly developed verbal/written communication and presentation skills to build meaningful rapport at all levels both internally and externally.
Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to provide customer with innovative business solutions.
Current Driver’s License
Advanced level of English is a must. French would be a plus.
