We are seeking a highly experienced Craft Trainer to join our offshore operations team.
This role, under the Production Operations Fitters family, is open to expatriates (non-Nigerians) with extensive expertise in technical training and hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, or process operations.
As a Craft Trainer, you will play a critical role in developing the technical capabilities of offshore personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
As a Craft Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for offshore production operations personnel. This role involves mentoring technicians, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to workforce development.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver technical training programs tailored to the needs of offshore personnel in mechanical, electrical, and process operations.
Develop and update training materials, such as manuals, presentations, and instructional videos, to enhance workforce skills and knowledge.
Conduct practical training sessions and hands-on demonstrations to ensure personnel can apply their skills in real-world scenarios.
Assess and evaluate the competencies of trainees, identifying areas for improvement and creating individual development plans.
Ensure training programs comply with offshore safety regulations, operational standards, and company guidelines.
Collaborate with operational teams to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, certifications, and progress reports.
Provide mentorship and coaching to trainees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and implement changes to improve outcomes.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate the latest techniques and technologies into training programs.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical roles within the oil and gas sector, with at least 5 years in a training or mentoring capacity.
Extensive offshore experience, preferably on FPSOs, rigs, or similar facilities.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields.
Specialized certifications in mechanical, electrical, or process operations are an advantage.
Technical Expertise:
Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, rotating equipment, and process operations in offshore environments.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
Mentorship Skills:
Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop technicians across diverse skill levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for delivering engaging training sessions.
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple training programs and adapt to changing operational needs.
