We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager (Mechanical) to lead and oversee the commissioning of mechanical systems on offshore production facilities.
This is a senior-level expatriate position under the Production Operations Fitters family, ideal for professionals with extensive mechanical commissioning experience in offshore environments such as FPSOs or drilling rigs.
As the Commissioning Manager (Mechanical), you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful commissioning of all mechanical systems.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage timelines, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards to achieve seamless system handover to operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the mechanical commissioning plan, ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedules.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, including turbines, compressors, pumps, and pipelines.
Coordinate and lead commissioning activities across all project phases, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and contractor teams to troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues.
Conduct and document inspections, equipment validations, and system tests.
Lead the preparation and implementation of punch lists for mechanical systems, ensuring all identified issues are resolved prior to handover.
Provide leadership and direction to commissioning teams, ensuring smooth and efficient execution of tasks.
Report progress to senior management and provide recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical commissioning, with at least 5 years in FPSO or offshore oil and gas environments.
Technical Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of offshore mechanical systems, including rotating and static equipment.
Strong understanding of commissioning protocols, documentation, and standards.
Safety Training: Offshore safety certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, or equivalent are mandatory.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex offshore environments.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Flexibility: Willingness to work in remote offshore locations and adapt to challenging environments.
