Works to assure the safe and efficient turnaround of gas carriers and condensate tankers.
This will include assisting with the management and oversight of all associated critical contractors including tug, and port services providers.
Tasks and Responsibilties
In addition to all Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3:
Inspection of marine equipment onboard rig(s)
Inspection of D&C support vessels and well intervention vessel
Inspection of D&C geotechnical and geophysical vessels
Rigless completion marine activities
Well intervention vessel move activities.
Skills and qualifications
University Degree or advanced degree required
Prior marine experience as a senior officer position - required
Master Mariners license - required
Experience in the company operations organization – preferred
Have led a minimum of 20 (ten) Jack Up rig moves at platform operations
Have extensive experience in performing rig inspection for marine related equipment.
Have experience in performing inspections for drilling support vessels such as Anchor Handling Tug and Supply (AHTS), Straight Supply Vessel (SSV), Production Supply Vessel (PSV), Geo-Technical vessel, Geo-physical vessel, Well Intervention Vessel, etc.
Experience in rig move operations for Tender Assisted Drilling Rig (TADR), Semi-Submersible, Drillship will be an advantage.
Have experience in leading drilling marine spread offshore.
Candidates without the above requirements will be considered, dependent on experience.
Strong culture of ‘Nobody Gets Hurt’
Expert knowledge of current large tanker applied mooring operations and best practices
Extensive knowledge of applied Operations Integrity Systems, specifically OIMS 8-1. Knowledge, Experience and Business Accomplishments
Required:
B.Sc. Nautical Science with Class 1 Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner (unlimited tonnage, foreign going with crude liquid petroleum endorsement). Class 2 Certificate of Competency may be considered.
Crude tanker experience, with at least 5 years as a Chief Officer or similar experience on an FPSO
Familiarity in Class Certification requirements (DNV preferred)
Crude Oil Washing certificate
Dangerous Liquids Handling Certificate
NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, if applicable.
Additional Information:
Overall supervision of marine operations on the FPSO, marine structures, and CALM Buoy:
Maintenance of overall stability of the FPSO
Coordinate with crude lifting activities, which requires involvement with various stakeholders
Overseeing the loading and offloading to tankers via the CALM buoy
Export operations systems including discharge pumps, inert gas, and metering export documentation
Tank cleaning for sludge and tank entry
Offloading procedures and marine terminal handbook
Inspection programs (Class and Flag)
Permit to Work System (PTWS) Area Authority for Hull and Marine Systems
Maintenance program and supervision of maintenance contractors for all marine systems, tank cleaning operations, etc
Crane operations and materials movement.
Safety and Compliance:
Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the ISM Code.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Ensure all safety and pollution prevention measures are effectively documented and followed.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and near-misses, reporting them as required by the ISM Code.
Crew Management and Competency Development:
Train and supervise crew members, ensuring they are aware of and comply with safety procedures.
Provide necessary training to ensure all personnel are competent in their roles.
Foster a collaborative and skilled team environment, ensuring effective management of direct reports.
Provide mentorship and coaching to marine engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Develop and implement training programs to ensure continuous professional development.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Documentation and Certification:
Manage marine class certifications, ensuring all necessary certifications and documents are up to date and readily available for inspection.
Ensure that all operations and activities are properly logged and recorded, demonstrating compliance with the ISM Code.
Oversee export, measurement, and inventory documentation in support of terminal activities.
Scoping and Project Management:
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for equipment restoration and improvement projects.
Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Management of Maritime Classification Society Survey Visits:
Oversee activities of Chief Marine Engineer to ensure the FPSO is always in a state of readiness for survey visits by maintaining high standards of operation and documentation.
