Centre for Community Development and Research Network (CCDRN) is a local Non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nigeria with its head office in Kaduna. CCDRN partners with communities, philanthropists, government and donors to provide sustainable community development services in the areas of conflict resolution, peacebuilding, economic empowerment, agriculture, health, education as well as governance. With funding from humanitarian donors for programs to engage in several interventions including but not limited to food assistance, livelihoods, cash transfers and capacity building of humanitarian response actors.

Job Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Kaduna

Job Summary
The Finance Analyst at CCDRN Head Office will analyze financial data, create financial models, and prepare financial forecasting and reporting to support decision-making.
S/hewill ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory and statutory filings and provide financial management services for CCDRN operations and donor-funded projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
Analyze financial data and create financial models to support decision-making.
Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.
Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
Provide insights on trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
Financial Management and Process Improvement:
Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
Identify and drive process improvements, including creating standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools to increase productivity.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparing quarterly and annual financial statements.
Accounting and Bookkeeping:
Provide accounting and bookkeeping services for CCDRN’s operations and donor-funded projects.
Ensure partner accounts are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and proper archiving of financial records.
Perform weekly account reconciliations and ensure proper financial documentation for the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Compliance and Regulatory Filings:
Coordinate all regulatory and statutory filings to ensure financial regulations and legislation compliance.
Liaise with clients, auditors, and tax consultants to address financial matters.
Risk Management and Financial Optimization:
Track CCDRN's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
Seek methods for minimizing financial risk to CCDRN.
Research and analyze financial reports and market trends to provide insights for decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Present financial reports to SMT, stakeholders, and clients during formal meetings.
Provide senior executives with insights and expectations to aid in long-term and short-term decision-making.
Policies and Procedures:
Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for CCDRN.
Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software for financial purposes.
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and legislation.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform any other duties commensurate with the position as assigned by management.
Requirement
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class) in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or related fields.
Previous work experience in a similar role, preferably in financial reporting for non-profit organizations.
Extensive understanding of financial trends within the organization and in general market patterns.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Excel, QuickBooks, and other financial software.
Strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
Knowledge of data privacy standards and financial regulations.
Competencies and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure proper financial processes.
Excellent problem-solving, independent thinking, and decision-making skills.
Strong organizational and management skills, with the ability to plan, schedule, and meet deliverables on time.
A high degree of trustworthiness, discretion, and confidentiality.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel to any part of the country, especially the Northeast region of Nigeria.
Ability to work effectively with senior management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Strong facilitation, team-building, and coordination skills.
