Job Title: Quality Assurance / R&D Manager
Location: Yaba, Lagos

Responsibilities
Quality Assurance:
Develop and implement a comprehensive Food Safety Management System (FSMS) aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
Establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for all ingredients, products, and processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and specifications.
Lead and oversee the quality assurance team, including training, performance management, and development.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify and address potential hazards and non-conformities.
Implement and manage a robust food safety and quality training program for all employees, including proper handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
Analyze food safety incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
Develop and implement quality metrics and dashboards to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality control throughout the entire supply chain.
Research & Development:
Lead the development and implementation of the R&D roadmap, aligning with company strategic objectives and market trends.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging consumer preferences, food trends, and potential menu innovation opportunities.
Develop and manage a portfolio of R&D projects, including concept development & Standardization, recipe testing, ingredient sourcing, and pilot testing in restaurants.
Collaborate with teams to develop new menu items, recipes, and processes that meet quality, cost, and consumer demand targets.
Explore and implement innovative food preparation technologies, automation, and efficiency improvements.
Conduct consumer taste tests and feedback gathering to ensure new products resonate with target audiences.
Develop and implement cost-effective solutions for new menu items and processes, ensuring profitability and sustainability.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead and manage a team of quality assurance and R&D professionals.
Cross functional collaboration and interdepartmental synergy.
Provide training and support on quality assurance and R&D procedures.
Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science & Nutrition, Nutrition & Dietetics, Quality Management or a related science field
Central Production Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in managing central production for a quick-service restaurant or food establishment is highly valued.
Food Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of food safety, quality control, and production processes.
Chinese Cuisine Expertise: Familiarity with Chinese cuisine and cooking techniques is essential.
Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams and driving results.
