Job Title: Project Engineering Manager

Job Summary
The Project Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering activities for EPCM projects, ensuring that all technical aspects of design, procurement, and construction phases are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
The individual will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, manage resources, and collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
Lead and manage the engineering teams on EPCM projects from inception to completion.
Develop detailed project plans, including engineering schedules, resource allocation, and budgets.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Design Management:
Oversee the development and review of engineering designs, ensuring they meet the client's specifications and requirements.
Ensure integration of all engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, etc.) to deliver cohesive project solutions.
Provide technical support and guidance to project engineers and design teams.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials, equipment, and services required for the project.
Review vendor proposals, ensuring technical specifications align with project requirements.
Manage the coordination between engineering and procurement teams to resolve technical issues with suppliers and contractors.
Project Execution:
Monitor project progress to ensure that engineering deliverables are met on schedule and within budget.
Identify and address any engineering-related issues or risks during the project execution phase.
Oversee technical meetings and reviews with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Resource Management:
Manage the allocation and utilization of engineering resources effectively.
Mentor and provide leadership to the engineering team, ensuring their professional development and performance.
Ensure that all team members are adequately trained on relevant systems, software, and project processes.
Risk Management and Quality Control:
Identify potential risks early in the project and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure that all engineering work complies with the company's quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes.
Conduct regular engineering reviews to ensure high standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication regarding project updates and technical concerns.
Prepare and deliver engineering reports, presentations, and status updates to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Participate in client meetings, coordinating responses to technical queries or concerns.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure that all engineering documentation (designs, specifications, calculations, reports, etc.) is completed and accurately filed.
Maintain proper records of all technical documentation, meeting minutes, change orders, and project correspondence.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations during project design and execution.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field). A Master’s degree or professional engineering certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 15 -25 years of experience in engineering, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role in EPCM projects.
Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience with EPCM projects, particularly in sectors such as oil & gas, power, infrastructure, or mining.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles across multiple disciplines.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design software.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
