ILLAJ Commodity Trading is a dynamic player in the commodity trading industry, specializing in the procurement, trading, and exportation of high-demand commodities

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sales Manager

Location: Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans tailored to both local and international markets, with a focus on export growth.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities in emerging export markets to drive business expansion.
  • Align sales activities with export supply chain availability, ensuring seamless delivery to international clients.
  • Coordinate with the General Manager to integrate export goals into the overall business strategy.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with international clients to foster repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Explore and execute collaborations with B2B clients, distributors, and key players in global markets.
  • Conduct market research to identify demand trends, customer preferences, and competitive positioning in export regions.
  • Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events to increase visibility and secure new clients.
  • Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to optimize shipping schedules, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
  • Monitor and address potential challenges in export logistics, such as customs delays or trade restrictions, by implementing proactive solutions.
  • Manage and mentor a team of sales professionals, setting clear objectives for export sales performance.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including supply chain, procurement, and finance, to ensure alignment of export sales with operational capabilities.
  • Develop training programs for the sales team to enhance their understanding of export markets, compliance, and cultural nuances.
  • Track and report export sales performance, providing insights into revenue, profitability, and market penetration.
  • Develop KPIs specific to export operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in export sales processes and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Act as an innovator by recommending new products, packaging formats, or pricing strategies to cater to international market needs.
  • Stay updated on global commodity trends and implement strategies to adapt to changing market conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in sales management, with at least 3 years focused on export sales, preferably in commodity trading or a related sector.
  • Proven track record in developing and growing export markets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international trade laws, export documentation, and logistics.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems for managing sales and client data.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify market opportunities and challenges.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, particularly in cross-cultural settings.

Salary
N350,000 - N400,000 per month.
