Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary

• We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team at our new hospital in Port Harcourt. The Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for conducting tests, analyzing results, and supporting diagnostic and treatment processes while maintaining strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and other areas.
• Analyze samples and ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to quality control procedures to maintain accuracy and reliability of tests.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and standards.
• Collect, process, and store patient samples appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory investigations and results.
• Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.
• Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plans.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and trainees.
• Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and diagnostic procedures.
• Participate in training and professional development programs.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institution.
• License: Must be licensed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
