Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Lagos
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager for Bakers Choice will drive business growth by building and managing relationships with bakery chains, large accounts, and high-volume customers.
This role requires a motivated sales professional with a strong understanding of the bakery and food production industry.
The manager will be responsible for promoting Bakers Choice products—including baking ingredients, ready-to-roll fondant, and related goods—to key accounts, ensuring revenue targets and growth objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities with bakery chains, large accounts, and high-potential customers.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed sales goals.
Work closely with the marketing team to create and execute promotional activities tailored to target customers.
Client Relationship Management:
Build, maintain, and nurture strong relationships with decision-makers in bakery chains and other large accounts.
Regularly engage with customers to understand their needs and requirements, offering Bakers Choice products as solutions.
Market Research & Analysis:
Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product offerings.
Provide regular reports and insights to the management team on market dynamics, including customer feedback and sales performance.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Work closely with the production and logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely deliveries for key accounts.
Collaborate with marketing to develop tailored promotional materials, campaigns, and product launches.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
Maintain an updated sales pipeline, forecasting upcoming sales and providing periodic reports to the Sales Director.
Track and analyze sales metrics, providing recommendations to improve sales strategies and customer engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the food or bakery supply industry.
Proven track record of managing and growing large accounts.
Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent understanding of the bakery industry and customer purchasing behavior.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Sales growth and revenue from large accounts and bakery chains.
Number of new key accounts acquired.
Customer retention and satisfaction rate.
Achievement of sales targets and quotas.
Salary
N200,000 - N300,000 / month.
