We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Specialist with a strong background in the financial services industry.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, balance sheet management, and a solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
This role requires a proactive and organized individual who can handle financial reporting, analysis, and ensure accurate record-keeping for our growing fintech company.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reconciliation:
Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and ensure consistency between financial systems and records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances and transaction records.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor management.
Manage accounts receivable, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue payments.
Coordinate with internal teams to streamline payment and collection processes.
Balance Sheet Management:
Monitor and maintain accurate balance sheet records, ensuring that all assets, liabilities, and equity accounts are accurately reflected.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities to prepare and maintain the balance sheet.
Assist in preparing balance sheet variance analysis and reporting to management.
IFRS Accounting Standards Compliance:
Apply International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in financial reporting and ensure all accounting activities adhere to IFRS guidelines.
Stay updated on relevant IFRS changes and provide recommendations for compliance.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analysis to support decision-making.
Provide insights into financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profit analysis.
Contribute to budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
Internal Controls and Audit Support:
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and resolving audit queries.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, ACCA, or CFA certification is a plus.
Experience: 2-6 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a preference for candidates with experience in the financial services or fintech industry.
Technical Skills:
Accounting Standards: Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
Reconciliation Expertise: Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations, managing accounts payable and receivable, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in financial record-keeping and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in the fintech or financial services industry.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements specific to the financial services sector.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams.
