Background
Navanti has a need for an Information Technology (IT) Officer to support our USAID/Nigeria Monitoring, Learning, and Evaluation (MEL) Support Activity Team in Abuja, Nigeria. This program assists USAID/Nigeria in advancing its broader organizational learning and development efforts.
This program will further strengthen the mission's capacity and performance in programmatic monitoring, evaluation, learning, collaborating, and adapting.
The MEL Support Activity will closely align with USAID/Nigeria's Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) and provide a broad range of specialized technical assistance, training, data gathering and analysis, field-based monitoring, evaluations and assessments, facilitation of organizational learning and adaptation initiatives, and short-term technical assistance.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Manage information technology and computer systems.
Plan, organize, control, and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT, including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, printers, scanners and servers.
Implement and coordinate IT systems with HQ policy and procedures.
Support HQ IT in ensuring security of data, network access, and backup systems.
Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, software and networks including routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs.
Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policies.
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
Audit systems and assess their outcomes.
Design and layout of essential business materials (e.g., business cards, presentations).
Manage timelines and prioritize workload and know when to ask for direction.
Provide technical support for design and video-related efforts.
Maintain organized content files and help to organize and archive existing files.
Provide IT Support required for USAID activities.
Job Qualifications and Skills
Excellent use of Microsoft and Google suite products required.
High familiarity with and experience using/managing Apple Macintosh computers and Apple Operating Systems required.
High familiarity with and experience using/managing Google and Apple cellular phones and Operating Systems required.
Experience implementing and navigating multi-factor authentication (MFA) for computer equipment and device logins required.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required.
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity required.
Strong analytical skills with attention to details required.
Fluency in English required.
Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field preferred.
Experience working with USAID desirable.
Supervision:
The IT Officer will report directly to the Senior Operations Manager.
