Job Summary
The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance a church's online presence and engagement, drive online service attendance, and grow the church's brand.
The candidate will manage the church’s social media channels as well as the lead pastor's personal social media profiles, engaging with the community and expanding reach through strategic, faith-based content that aligns with the church's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy and Execution:
Develop, execute, and manage a content calendar for the Church and the lead Pastor's social media pages.
Create, curate, and schedule posts across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc).
Utilize storytelling to create impactful content that aligns with the church’s mission, vision, and core messages.
Online Community Management:
Engage with the church’s online community, responding to messages, comments, and inquiries in a timely and positive manner.
Moderate and manage online conversations to foster a supportive and respectful environment.
Build and maintain relationships with followers, members, and other online influencers in the faith-based space.
Growth and Engagement:
Develop strategies to increase online attendance and engagement during church services, live streams, and events.
Act as the marketing lead to develop campaigns that attract new members and drive attendance.
Monitor, analyze, and report on key social media metrics, adjusting strategies to optimize performance.
Brand Growth and Awareness:
Design and implement campaigns that enhance the church’s brand awareness and visibility within the Christian community.
Stay updated with trends and best practices in social media and digital marketing to ensure Church remains competitive and innovative.
Marketing and Content Development:
Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and content creators to develop high-quality visual and multimedia content.
Write clear, creative, and inspiring captions, ensuring all content is aligned with Church’s tone and voice.
Develop and implement digital advertising campaigns where needed, including promotions, sponsored posts, and boosted content.
Event Promotion and Coverage:
Support the promotion of events, sermons, and church programs through engaging content and real-time coverage.
Coordinate with the events team to ensure online coverage aligns with offline initiatives and encourages physical attendance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably within the faith-based or non-profit sector.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
Proven experience in developing and executing digital marketing campaigns.
Strong writing and communication skills, with a knack for engaging storytelling.
Proficiency in social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Buffer, etc).
Hands-on experience in content management.
Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
