The Head Teacher will lead and manage the nursery and primary school, overseeing the daily operations and providing educational leadership.
This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality instruction, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment, managing faculty and staff, and driving student success.
The Head Teacher will work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents to maintain an inspiring, safe, and effective educational setting.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Leadership and Curriculum Management:
Oversee and implement the school’s educational philosophy, mission, and vision.
Design and adapt the curriculum to meet educational standards and the school’s objectives, ensuring age-appropriate instruction.
Support teachers in developing effective lesson plans, teaching methods, and assessments.
Lead the development and integration of innovative teaching practices and educational technologies.
Student Development and Academic Performance:
Monitor student progress, behaviours, and well-being, creating intervention plans as needed.
Foster an inclusive environment that meets the diverse needs of students and promotes a love for learning.
Organize and support extracurricular activities, events, and programs that enhance student experience.
Staff Management and Development:
Recruit, hire, and onboard teaching and administrative staff.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teachers, encouraging professional development.
Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops to promote continuous improvement.
Address and resolve staff concerns or conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
Parent and Community Engagement:
Act as a primary point of contact for parents and address their concerns, fostering open communication and positive relationships.
Organize parent-teacher meetings and regular updates on student progress.
Engage with the local community, building partnerships that support the school’s goals and enhance the educational experience.
Administration and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all educational policies, health, safety, and legal regulations.
Oversee the school’s budget, resources, and supplies, making fiscally responsible decisions.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports as required by educational authorities.
Implement policies for student discipline, attendance, and school safety.
Strategic Planning and School Improvement:
Develop and execute long-term goals that align with the school’s mission.
Analyze academic and operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Lead initiatives to improve school infrastructure, facilities, and educational offerings.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching.
Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogy, and instructional best practices.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff, foster a positive school culture, and make data-driven decisions.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in educational settings.
Proficiency in using educational technology and tools.
