Job Title: Structural Engineers - Oil and Gas Industry

Job Description
The Structural Engineer for the oil and gas sector will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and ensuring the structural integrity of facilities, pipelines, offshore platforms, and other infrastructure related to oil and gas operations.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards, and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both onshore and offshore projects, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
Responsibilities
Structural Design and Analysis:
Perform structural design and analysis of onshore and offshore facilities, including platforms, pipelines, and storage tanks, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
Utilize engineering software to model, simulate, and analyze structural components under various environmental and operational loads.
Provide recommendations on material selection, structural reinforcement, and design modifications to enhance stability and durability.
Project Coordination and Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers, to develop integrated solutions for complex projects.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project specifications, timelines, and budget requirements are met.
Review and approve design documents, technical drawings, and engineering reports provided by vendors and subcontractors.
Field Support and Site Inspections:
Conduct on-site inspections to assess structural integrity, monitor construction quality, and ensure adherence to engineering specifications.
Oversee installation and commissioning activities to confirm that structures are built and assembled according to design.
Identify and resolve any structural issues during the construction phase, working proactively with field teams to implement solutions.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all designs adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in the oil and gas industry, such as API, ASME, AISC, and DNV codes.
Participate in risk assessments and safety reviews to identify and mitigate structural hazards.
Keep up-to-date with changes in industry regulations and ensure ongoing compliance in all engineering activities.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including design calculations, project reports, and compliance certifications.
Develop and submit engineering reports, technical specifications, and analysis summaries for review by stakeholders.
Maintain records of structural assessments, inspection reports, and recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to process improvement by identifying ways to optimize structural design, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Stay informed on advancements in structural engineering technology and best practices, implementing innovative solutions where applicable.
Other Specific Client’s Responsibilities:
Lead company’s client including its affiliates and their contractors engineering design for brownfield maintenance on FPSOs, Deepwater, Shallow Water, and onshore facilities.
Plan and executed FPSO Turn Around Maintenance (TAM)
Lead and provide engineering/design, support, and assistance with the maintenance of client’s FPSOs, shallow water and onshore facilities.
Lead quality assurance of in-house and contractors' designs for technical completeness and conformity with Regulatory Requirements, Company Standards,
Procedures and Project Specifications
Interface with other disciplines on Structural related issues and proffer solutions
Support Project Managers to ensure Effective Project Delivery in terms of Cost, Schedule, and Health, Safety, Security and Environment.
Review/Quality check on Engineering deliverables for completeness.
Participate and Compile Structural Analysis Summary Report of project Modules.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, ideally within the oil and gas sector.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable
Proficiency in engineering software, such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar structural analysis tools.
Thorough knowledge of industry standards and codes, including API, ASME, AISC, and DNV.
