Green Concern for Development (GREENCODE) is a National registered NGO with CAC No: CAC/IT/NO 25643 and has been in operation for over 10 years. Our mission is to work with the poor and socially excluded people and government for the promotion of environmental and human rights protection in communities in Nigeria, aimed at poverty reduction through education, information sharing, research, training, and direct impact interventions are in humanitarian emergency response and development, with physical presence in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Abuja, Cross River, Akwa Ibom States.
The Communications/ICT Consultant will play a vital role in enhancing GREENCODE’s online presence, digital communications, and data management systems to boost program impact and organizational outreach.
This role requires expertise in content creation, social media management, ICT support, and strategic communications.
The ideal candidate will have experience in communications for development or humanitarian programs and be proficient in leveraging digital tools to engage stakeholders and promote GREENCODE’s mission.
Responsibilities
Digital Communication Strategy and Content Creation:
Develop and implement digital communication strategy to enhance GREENCODE’s visibility and engagement across online platforms.
Create compelling content for GREENCODE’s social media channels, website, newsletters, and other communication materials.
Design graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets to showcase project impact stories, announcements, and key achievements.
Manage and regularly update GREENCODE’s social media accounts, ensuring consistent branding and messaging aligned with organizational goals.
ICT Support and System Management:
Provide technical support for ICT tools and systems, including troubleshooting issues and optimizing functionality.
Develop and implement digital data management and reporting tools to improve project data storage, accessibility, and analytics.
Ensure the secure management of data and adherence to data protection and privacy protocols.
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting:
Coordinate with program teams to gather, organize, and share content, success stories, and project updates for communication purposes.
Create bi-monthly and monthly progress reports on communication activities, impact metrics, and social media analytics.
Work with project teams to develop and publish success stories and newsletters that highlight project achievements and impact.
Capacity Building and Training
Train GREENCODE staff on effective social media use, basic digital content creation, and ICT best practices.
Develop simple guides or resource materials for the team on key ICT tools and processes that support communications and data management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital communications, ICT support, or a similar role in the development or humanitarian sector.
Proven expertise in social media management, graphic design, and content creation.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and video editing tools.
Experience with data management tools and platforms, digital data security, and online analytics.
Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under minimal supervision.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and social media analytics.
Experience working with non-profit organizations or on development-focused projects.
Familiarity with emerging digital tools and trends in the field of ICT for Development (ICT4D).
