The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Independent Bodies Manager
Location: Cairo, Egypt
Responsibilities
Support and assist the Head of Independent Bodies in the overall discharge his or her duties
Manage and update the disciplinary matters on the CAF CMS portal (suspension letters, sending notices of players suspended from forthcoming matches to match officilas).
Draft pre-hearing briefs for the Judical Bodies members together with relevant jurisprudence
Draft the decisions proposed by the Judicial Bodies.
Convene disciplinary hearings and liase with the parties on exchange of documents and all procedural aspects
Ensure disciplinary cases are filed within the fixed deadlines and accompanied by the relevant feesCompile and update a table of all financial sanctions imposed by the Judicial Bodies
Compile a list of all the players, coaches or officials suspended or expelled from forthcoming CAF competitions and submit the same to the relevant member associations or clubs
Investigate and compile reports on all integrity and ethics related alerts
Support in developing and monitoring the implementation of the integrity plan for CAF competitions
Work hand in hand with Integrity Officers of the member associations on all integrity related matters
Compile statistical data of all the cases filed in a financial year (number of cases, nature of cases, outcomes, appeals and observations/recommendations on detterent measures)
Any other legal duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements (Profile)
Master’s Degree in Law.
Admission to the bar as a practicing advocate.
Additional studies in sports law is an advantage.
At least 4 years’ experience in the judicial bodies of a sports organization.
Organized and detail oriented.
Fluent in both English & French spoken and written, command of the Arabic is an advantage.
