Job Title: Deputy General Purpose Fish Farm Manager

Location: Lafia, Nassarawa
Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

• We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy General Purpose Fish Farm Manager to support our daily operations, working closely with Dr Jonathan Ajah to ensure seamless farm management.
• This role will involve hands-on management of aquaculture systems, assisting in feed production, overseeing fish health and growth, and collaborating on farmaceutical research projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Aquaculture Operations: Oversee daily maintenance of fishponds, including feeding schedules, water quality management, and monitoring fish growth rates.
• Fish Feed Production: Assist in feed formulation, processing, and quality control to maintain optimal fish health and growth.
• Farmaceutical Research: Engage in the development of organic, farm-based health solutions, contributing to our research initiatives.
• Sustainable Practices: Participate in projects focused on environmental sustainability, such as waste management and recycling.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Dr Jonathan Ajah and other team members, contributing to training sessions and sharing insights to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 2 - 5 years experience.
• Proven experience in aquaculture or fish farming management.
• Strong knowledge of fish feeding, breeding, and health management.
• Familiarity with sustainable farming practices and environmental stewardship.
• Effective communication and leadership skills for managing teams and liaising with the Farm Director.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and a commitment to innovative farming solutions.
