Job Title: Treasury & Investments Officer
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Responsibilities
The successful candidate shall assist the Director of Treasury & Investments in managing Africa Re group’s assets with the objective of capital preservation, liquidity and profitability in accordance with the Corporation’s policies on investment, liquidity and Asset and Liability Matching.
Duties and Job Details
The main duties of the Treasury & Investments Officer shall comprise, amongst others, the following:
Responsible for data input into the treasury management system and other applications of the company and their maintenance.
Prepare investment and payment instructions on time with accuracy.
Perform investment analysis of investment transactions executed by external fund managers and those executed internally.
Perform period reconciliation of bank balances and investment positions to ensure accurate reporting.
Monitor the liquidity position to ensure enough funds to execute various payments.
Participate in the forecast and annual budgeting process.
Prepare period reports (liquidity, budget performance, investment tracker, etc.) in line with IFRS standards requirements.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisors and Management from time to time.
Academic Qualifications
Applicants shall be holders of:
A University Degree in a relevant discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years’ practical work experience - particularly in Treasury & Investments management.
Relevant work experience in the treasury & Investments department of a re/insurance company and/or a financial institution is a must.
Relevant Professional qualifications will be an added advantage

Proficiency in finance, credit scoring tools, and treasury management operations, with a good understanding of reinsurance and capital market operations.
Client service orientation, openness to feedback and ability to handle pressure.
Proficiency in business software tools, including financial applications (e.g., Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters), and in Microsoft Office Suite.
Relevant experience in treasury or investment applications is preferred, with a good understanding of payment processing, especially Swift messages.
Ability to communicate and write effectively in English and/or French, with a working knowledge of either language.
