Job Description
We are seeking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our technical team.
The ideal candidate will support farm operations by overseeing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all mechanical systems, including equipment used in poultry production.
This role requires experience in industrial maintenance, knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, and a hands-on approach to solving technical issues in agricultural settings.
Responsibilities
Mechanical System Maintenance:
Ensure that all mechanical systems operate efficiently to minimize downtime and reduce operational costs.
Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on farm equipment, including feeders, water systems, HVAC systems, and generators
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Provide technical support to the production team by resolving any mechanical issues that may arise during operations.
Diagnose and address mechanical issues quickly and effectively, using a systematic approach.
Compliance and Safety:
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and recommending improvements where needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and farm operational standards
Keep up-to-date records of repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting purposes.
Collaboration and Communication with team:
Work closely with other engineers, production managers, and maintenance staff to support continuous operations.
Assist in training farm staff on the proper use of equipment and minor troubleshooting techniques.
System Upgrades and Continuous Improvement:
Suggest and implement improvements in mechanical systems and processes to increase efficiency and production quality.
Stay informed on industry advancements and recommend new technologies and practices that may benefit farm operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably within the agricultural or food production industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance practices and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in industrial settings.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
Previous experience in poultry or livestock farm operations.
Familiarity with agricultural equipment maintenance and repair.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
