Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join the culinary team at a premier hotel in Edo State. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen staff, ensuring the quality and presentation of all dishes, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
This role is ideal for a creative and passionate chef who thrives in a high-paced, professional kitchen environment and is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Creation & Planning:
Develop and design innovative and diverse menus that reflect the hotel’s brand and meet guest expectations.
Update menus based on seasonal ingredients, guest preferences, and food trends.
Ensure menu offerings are aligned with dietary restrictions, allergies, and health-conscious trends.
Food Preparation & Cooking:
Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and standards.
Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control for all dishes.
Supervise the preparation and cooking of a variety of cuisines (e.g., continental, local, and international).
Kitchen Management:
Manage kitchen operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and timely food preparation.
Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring they are well-prepared and working efficiently.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock rotation to avoid waste or spoilage (FIFO principles).
Ensure that kitchen equipment and utensils are used properly and maintained in good working order.
Quality Control & Safety:
Ensure that all food items are cooked, stored, and presented according to safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Comply with food safety and sanitation standards to prevent contamination and uphold health regulations.
Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
Assist with food cost management, controlling waste, and maintaining food production within budget.
Help with sourcing and selecting suppliers to ensure the best quality ingredients at the best possible cost.
Monitor portion control and minimize food wastage.
Guest Satisfaction:
Respond to guest feedback and preferences, ensuring that guests’ dining experiences are exceptional.
Adapt to special dietary requirements, preferences, or custom requests with creativity and flexibility.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef in a hotel or high-end restaurant (at least 3-5 years preferred).
A Culinary Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Food Preparation is highly desirable.
Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines.
Experience managing kitchen operations, including inventory control and staff supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality standards.
Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
Passion for food and a strong desire to innovate and create exceptional dining experiences.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 / Month.
