Job Title: Night Auditor

Job Summary

Responsibilities
The following job description sets out the duties which you are to provide as a Night Auditor. The lists included for the Job description are not exhaustive and further requirements may be added:

• Perform night audits of the hotel’s financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
• Verify charges and payments posted to guest accounts and balance all revenue earned during shift period.
• Reconcile guests accounts to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Conduct nightly reviews of room rates, occupancy, and revenue.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies and guest complaints promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information.
• Collaborate with front office, accounting, and management teams.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
• Ensure strict adherence to the hotel’s accounting policies and procedures.
• Conduct internal audits and compliance checks.
• Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management.
• Identify trends and opportunities for revenue growth.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Provide training and support to front office staff on financial procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Night Auditor in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
• Proficient in the use of hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Protel).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality
• Availability to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Familiarity with Nigerian hospitality industry standards.
