Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations.
The ideal candidate will effectively manage kitchen staff, swiftly address operational issues, and maintain the highest standards of food quality and service.
This role involves training team members, ensuring smooth kitchen operations, and acting as a key support during peak service times.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring freshness and prompt delivery.
Lead and coordinate the tasks of kitchen staff, maintaining a cohesive and productive team.
Implement and monitor hygiene and cleanliness standards, inspecting equipment regularly.
Develop and introduce new recipes, design seasonal menus, and plan innovative plate presentations.
Review and adjust staffing levels to align with service needs, operational goals, and budgetary constraints.
Recruit, onboard, and train new team members, including cooks and food preparation staff.
Manage inventory, conduct stock checks, and handle ordering of food and kitchen supplies.
Set and uphold performance benchmarks for kitchen staff.
Collect feedback from customers to improve food quality and address any service-related issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of culinary experience, including relevant training or education.
Proven track record in a similar leadership role for at least 2 years.
Deep understanding of culinary practices and food safety standards.
Proficiency in kitchen and staff management, including HR principles.
Strong experience with back-of-house (BOH) systems, inventory management, and order processing.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call periods.
