Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chemist to join our team.
This role is crucial to our operations, responsible for overseeing chemical processes, conducting quality control tests, and developing new products and formulations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in chemical manufacturing, a strong analytical skill set, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Product Development: Lead and support the development of new products, formulations, and processes, e.g., steel production, cement, manufacturing chemicals, etc.].
Quality Control: Oversee and conduct rigorous testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
Process Optimization: Evaluate and optimize chemical processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality improvements.
Research and Analysis: Perform analytical testing, chemical analyses, and troubleshooting to resolve any issues with formulations or processes.
Data Documentation: Maintain accurate records of experiments, test results, and product formulations; compile technical reports and present findings to the leadership team.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the lab and production areas; promote best practices for chemical handling and disposal.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior chemists, technicians, and lab assistants; provide training and support for professional development.
Collaboration: Work closely with the R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to implement new processes, test products, and resolve production issues.
Vendor and Material Evaluation: Assess raw materials and suppliers to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards.
Requirements
Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Specialization in [specific area, if applicable, e.g., industrial chemistry, polymer chemistry, etc.] is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a chemist in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar setting, with experience in supervisory or lead roles preferred.
