We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Assistant

Reports to: Accounts Manager / Senior Accountant

Job Summary

• The Account Assistant will support the accounting team by handling essential tasks related to bookkeeping, financial reporting, and account management.
• This role is vital for ensuring accuracy in financial records and providing essential assistance to the team, facilitating the organization’s financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping and Financial Record Maintenance:

• Record daily financial transactions (expenses, income, invoices) in appropriate systems.
• Maintain ledgers and ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, including tracking payments and collections.

Data Entry and Documentation:

• Input data into financial software and ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Organize and store documents related to financial transactions, including receipts, invoices, and bank statements.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

• Assist in monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support in preparing periodic financial reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Analysis and Support:

• Help analyze account discrepancies and issues, working closely with other departments as needed.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting by compiling data for various accounts.

Administrative Support:

• Handle correspondence with vendors, clients, and external agencies regarding financial matters.
• Support other accounting and finance team members in daily administrative tasks as needed.

Compliance and Policy Adherence:

• Ensure all financial activities adhere to company policies and regulations.
• Assist in preparing documents for audits and coordinate with auditors when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance only
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
