The Accounting Associate Consultant will support client-facing projects related to financial reporting, accounting systems implementation, budgeting, and compliance. You will work closely with senior consultants, clients, and internal teams to deliver accurate and timely financial solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities
Client Support & Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements for clients, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Help clients streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.
Conduct detailed reconciliations of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents.
Consulting & Advisory:
Provide accounting advisory services to clients to help improve financial systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
Assist in implementing accounting software solutions or optimizing existing systems.
Support clients with regulatory compliance and manage audit preparation processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist clients in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Provide support in analyzing financial data and performance to guide strategic decision-making.
Tax & Compliance Support:
Support clients in filing taxes, ensuring all local tax laws and regulations are followed.
Provide assistance in creating tax-saving strategies and help clients stay up to date on tax reforms.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct variance analysis on financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.
Provide clients with insightful reports and recommendations based on financial analysis.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work alongside other consulting teams, including IT and strategy consultants, to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
Assist in developing training materials and deliver training sessions for clients on accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional qualification).
ACA, ACCA, or any relevant accounting certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience:
At least 3-5 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or consulting roles.
Previous experience working in an accounting firm or consulting firm is a plus.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and ERP systems.
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance regulations.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Proficient in MS Excel (advanced functions, data analysis, and pivot tables).
Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects.
