Job Description
The Creative and Cultural Arts (CCA) Teacher is responsible for delivering lessons that cover various aspects of arts, culture, and creativity, including visual arts, music, dance, drama, and traditional arts. The teacher will encourage students to explore their creative potential, understand cultural heritage, and develop artistic skills. This role involves preparing students for performances, exhibitions, and contributing to a vibrant cultural environment within the school.
Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction:
Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across different CCA components, including visual arts (painting, drawing), music, dance, drama, and cultural studies.
Adapt lessons to meet students' varying interests, skill levels, and cultural backgrounds, fostering appreciation and respect for diverse artistic traditions.
Use creative teaching methods to inspire students, promote self-expression, and develop practical skills in the arts.
Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development:
Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials that align with the school curriculum and national standards for arts education.
Integrate multimedia, hands-on activities, and interdisciplinary approaches to make classes engaging and memorable.
Ensure lessons highlight both practical skills and the historical or cultural significance of artistic traditions.
Student Projects and Performances:
Guide students in individual and group projects, ensuring that they learn techniques, practice creativity, and understand project organization.
Organize and supervise student performances, exhibitions, or shows, including school events that celebrate artistic and cultural diversity.
Support students in preparing artwork or performances for local competitions, festivals, or community events.
Assessment and Reporting:
Develop and use assessment methods suited to creative subjects, such as portfolios, practical projects, and performances, to evaluate student progress.
Provide constructive feedback to help students refine their skills and foster continuous improvement.
Maintain records of students' achievements, attendance, and participation, and prepare reports for parents and school administration.
Professional Development and Collaboration:
Stay updated with new developments in arts education, creative methodologies, and cultural studies.
Participate in professional development opportunities and workshops to enhance teaching practices.
Collaborate with other teachers to plan interdisciplinary projects or events that integrate the arts with other subjects.
Guidance and Student Support:
Encourage and guide students in exploring their unique talents and expressing themselves through various art forms.
Support students interested in pursuing arts-related careers or further studies in creative fields.
Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, motivated, and inspired to express themselves.
Promotion of Cultural Awareness:
Foster appreciation and respect for cultural diversity by introducing students to both local and international artistic traditions.
Encourage students to appreciate their cultural heritage and understand its significance through practical engagement and interactive discussions.

Bachelor’s degree in Arts Education, Fine Arts, Cultural Studies, or a related field; teaching certification or license preferred.
Prior experience teaching Creative and Cultural Arts or related subjects at the secondary school level is an advantage.
