Job Summary
We seek an experienced Sales Team Lead to drive growth in our palm oil and palm fruit derivatives business by leading a dynamic sales team to success.
Position Overview
As the Team Lead for Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to expand Norsworthy Farms’ market share in palm oil and palm fruit derivative products.
Your role will be central in driving revenue growth, building strong customer relationships, and mentoring a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed sales targets.
You will work closely with the Head of Sales and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with Norsworthy Farms’ strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the palm oil and derivatives market.
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, competitive dynamics, and potential clients.
Set, monitor, and report on sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales goals.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance the team’s selling skills, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages innovation and customer-centricity.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to increase market penetration and brand loyalty.
Resolve customer concerns and ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction by promoting Norsworthy Farms’ values and service excellence.
Identify and pursue opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within the customer portfolio.
Sales Operations & Reporting:
Oversee the development of sales proposals, presentations, and contracts to ensure alignment with client needs and compliance with company policies.
Track and analyze sales metrics, providing regular performance reports to the Head of Sales.
Ensure the team adheres to company policies, pricing guidelines, and industry regulations.
Market Insights & Business Development:
Monitor trends in the palm oil industry and adapt strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to create tailored sales approaches and promotional materials.
Represent Norsworthy Farms at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to enhance visibility and generate leads.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the agriculture or FMCG sectors, with a focus on palm oil or similar products.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
Skills:
Strong leadership abilities, with a talent for coaching and motivating sales teams.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers at all levels.
Analytical mindset with experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
