We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Team Lead - Financial Reporting
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and other management reports for management’s decision making.
Support the Head, Finance in preparation of the annual financial statement annual and periodic internal and external audits and attending to auditors’ queries promptly.
Provide monthly performance reportto Executive Management.
Ensure Management Account is ready and reviewed by the 3rd Working day of every-month.
Supports managing the external audit process for financial statements issuance and tax audits, desk reviews during interim and year end audit exercises.
Preparation of relevant supporting schedules for statutory audits as and when requested.
Monitor regularization of issues raised in external audit management letter an internal audit reports.
Prepare statutory annual audit reports and processing of returns to various regulators such as NAICOM (NAICOM's quarterly and annual reports) and respond to NAICOM
Responsible for ensuring that all primary books (both receipts and payments) are approved daily to facilitate the preparation of management reports.
Responsible for reviewing the general ledger on a monthly basis to detect and rectify errors and incorrect postings to align all GL balances to the accounts and FS.
Coordination and Managing of month end Journals - Before the 24th of every month
Oversee the maintenance of non-investment accounting prepayments and accruals schedules and prepare the monthly journals for posting.
Supervise the fixed assets register maintenance process and prepare the monthly depreciation journal for posting.
Support the Head, Finance in coordinating the tax management, reviews, reports and enquiries and liaise with consultants on company income tax remittance.
Supervise the monthly tax remittance of PAYE, WHT and VAT.
Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
A post graduate degree or MBA in Finance Management or a related discipline is an advantage.
Minimum of Six (6) years relevant experience with at least three (3) years mid managerial experience preferably in an Insurance firm.
A professional qualification of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Associate status is mandatory.
Strong Management skills with a high degree of professionalism & maturity.
Time Management and ability to deal with details.
Ability to show impartiality and zeal to maintain integrity.
