We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Volunteer Listener - ASADS Listeners Department
The ASADS Listeners Department is seeking dedicated volunteers to provide support to forum participants facing mental health challenges.
As a member of this department, you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive community through regular check-ins, facilitating mental health sessions, and maintaining collaboration with mental health professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Engagement:
Assign and conduct regular check-ups with designated forum participants to provide ongoing support.
Be accessible to participants and the public for mental health advice and support.
Facilitation of Mental Health Sessions:
Organize and facilitate weekly sessions addressing various mental health concerns, either virtually or in person.
Collaborate with department members to enhance session effectiveness and participant engagement.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individuals and organizations involved in mental health talks and therapy sessions.
Complete feedback forms after each participant interaction to ensure continuity and quality of care.
Training and Development:
Attend regular training sessions on mental health topics to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Enroll in the School of Life to further your understanding of mental health principles.
Share relevant mental health content weekly to educate and engage the community.
Collaboration with Professionals:
Engage with mental health therapists willing to provide services at no cost and maintain positive relationships with them.
Coordinate regular checks and meetings with therapists to ensure alignment and support.
Education and Outreach:
Actively educate forum participants and fellow members on essential mental health topics and resources.
Support the Head of ASADS Listeners in managing assignments and ensuring proper communication within the team.
Qualifications / Requirements
Strong interest in mental health and community support.
Commitment to ongoing learning and personal development in mental health topics.
Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, listen actively, and provide empathetic support to individuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to participants’ needs.
Must be willing to commit to regular check-ins with assigned participants and facilitate weekly mental health sessions.
Applicants should have access to a working laptop and reliable internet for virtual sessions and record-keeping
Must be open to attending ongoing mental health training and actively participating in skill development programs.
