Job Title: Store Manager

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our pet store located in Lekki. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals, possess strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record of managing retail operations. The Store
Manager will ensure that both pets and customers receive the highest level of service while maintaining a profitable and smoothly run store.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations:
Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
Ensure the store is always clean, organized, and well-stocked with products.
Monitor and maintain stock levels, place orders for new inventory, and ensure timely restocking.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure the store runs efficiently.
Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection, answering questions, and resolving any complaints or issues.
Train staff to provide excellent customer service and ensure all team members are knowledgeable about pets and pet products.
Handle customer inquiries related to pet care, services, and products.
Foster a welcoming and helpful store environment.
Staff Management:
Manage store staff, including creating work schedules and overseeing performance.
Conduct regular staff meetings to address store operations, customer service standards, and sales goals.
Motivate and coach the team to meet or exceed sales targets and deliver top-notch service.
Sales and Marketing:
Develop strategies to increase store traffic, boost sales, and attract new customers.
Track sales performance and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with the team to create promotions, in-store events, and special offers to engage customers and drive revenue.
Financial Management:
Monitor store expenses and ensure that they are within budget.
Handle daily cash reconciliation, bank deposits, and financial reporting.
Animal Welfare:
Ensure that all animals in the store are treated with care and compassion, including maintaining clean habitats, feeding schedules, and veterinary checks.
Implement policies to ensure the health and well-being of all animals, adhering to local and international standards for pet care.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that the store is in compliance with local regulations and industry standards, including pet care guidelines, health and safety, and retail laws.
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure that both staff and customers are aware of safety protocols.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a pet store or a similar environment.
Knowledge of pet care and products, including pet food, accessories, and live animal management, is highly preferred.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of inventory management, sales analysis, and financial reporting.
Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail management software.
Must reside within or around Lekki, Lagos.
