Relief Rescue Initiative (RRI) is a National Non-governmental organization, which is committed and active in community humanitarian and developmental projects with its presence in Borno, Adamawa, Benue, Yobe and Jigawa States. The primary focus of RRI is on improving and alleviating the problems of the less privileged, deprived, vulnerable group and people affected by armed conflicts and other Natural/Man-made disasters in their struggle to obtain a life of justice and dignity. Areas of focus include; food security and livelihood, Nutrition, Protection, Education, Water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Metal health, and psychosocial support (MHPSS) achieved through the implementation of projects targeted at the community level especially on the most vulnerable members of the community. In line with its focus, RRI will be implementing WASH and Multipurpose Cash Assistance in Jigawa States In partnership with IOM-RRF Project. This is aimed at preventing already vulnerable House Holds from falling into starvation, malnutrition and diseases.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Multipurpose Cash Assistance - Officer
Location: Jigawa
Reporting to: Head of Programs
Duration: 3 months
Project: JProject Officer - MPCA (Emergency WASH and MPCA Project, Jigawa State) – RRI
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of the Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) component of the project, ensuring timely and transparent cash distribution to flood-affected households.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and beneficiary targeting for MPCA, prioritizing the most affected and vulnerable populations.
Coordinate with financial service providers (banks, mobile money agents) to facilitate cash transfers.
Collaborate with the WASH team to integrate cash assistance with WASH activities, ensuring holistic support for beneficiaries.
Monitor the effectiveness of cash distributions and collect feedback from beneficiaries to improve service delivery.
Prepare reports on the MPCA interventions, including data on beneficiaries, distribution outcomes, and challenges encountered
Ensure compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and humanitarian standards in all aspects of cash programming.
Skills Needed:
Cash Transfer Expertise: Strong understanding of cash assistance programs, MPCA standards, and distribution mechanisms.
Data Management: Ability to collect, analyze, and report data accurately for assessments and program monitoring.
Community Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with communities and stakeholders.
Problem-solving: Ability to respond quickly to challenges during cash distribution activities.
Coordination Skills: Experience working with financial institutions and program teams to ensure smooth cash transfers.
Reporting & Documentation: Strong report-writing skills for program updates and donor requirements.
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within Relief Rescue Initiative and amongst beneficiaries served by Relief Rescue Initiative.
Compliance & Ethics:
Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Relief Rescue Initiative. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of Relief Rescue Initiative and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Social Sciences, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience implementing cash-based assistance programs in humanitarian settings.
Familiarity with MPCA guidelines and cash transfer mechanisms, especially in emergency contexts.
Strong experience in community engagement and needs assessment.
Excellent reporting, monitoring, and communication skills.---
