Job Objectives
Finance & Risk Officer will be responsible for all financial operations, analyzing financial data, developing financial models, and preparing financial reports to support investment decision-making and ensuring the company's financial goals are met. The officer will implement and manage necessary processes, systems and controls to minimize risk and financial loss, ensure all accounting activities comply with regulations and are up to dateand ensure statutory compliance (financial reporting, tax)
Job Description
In charge of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting
Ensure statutory compliance and timely filing of tax and other returns- VAT, CIT, NHF, PAYE, Pension e.tc
Ensure daily posting of all necessary ledgers of account accordingly and monitor financial data like revenues and liabilities
Preparation of financial reports and statements e.g weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly , yearly and as requested by stakeholders.
Preparation of annual budgets for the company and also collate/monitor departmental and divisional budgets.
Managing office cash, updating transfer payments with supporting documents and disbursing funds necessary for office operations.
Reconciling and balancing all financial records
Create well detailed financial reports for management and audit purposes
Conduct a detailed risk analysis to assess potential investment opportunities and advise management on risks
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of accounting information system to strengthen efficiency and perform an internal audit to substantiate financial statements and transactions.
Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify investment opportunities.
Ensure that the potential transactions are in line with the Fund’s strategy, development impact objectives and highlight relevant regulatory and reputational risks, conflict of interest and environmental and social issues
Support fundraising efforts by preparing financial presentations and reports for external investors
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance and inform decision-making.
Implement a system of robust internal controls over daily finance processes (including revenue & cost monitoring, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, payroll etc)
Supporting the implementation of processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks.
Required Qualification & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
ACA, ACCA.
Minimum of 2 years work experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Excellent technical knowledge of budgeting, cash management, financial statements and financial analysis processes.
