Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time (On-site)

Job Summary

• We seek a highly organized and professional Accountant Officer to manage the financial records, prepare accurate financial reports, and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.
• The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity in reporting.
• Support the Finance Manager in preparing budget forecasts and variance analysis.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure that all transactions comply with relevant policies and standards.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with all local and national financial regulations.
• Assist in both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Keep up-to-date with financial policies, procedures, and legislation changes.
• Review expense reports and ensure that expenditures are within approved budgets.
• Assist in cost control by identifying and suggesting ways to improve efficiency.
• Prepare and file tax returns and manage payroll-related processes.
• Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with payroll regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and enhance process efficiency.
• Participate in financial system improvement projects as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or arelated field (CPA, ICAN or other relevant certification is a plus).
• Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 monthly.
