Job Title: Technical Lead
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Summary
The Technical lead is responsible for engineering activities during all project phases from endorsement of detail engineering up to final documentation delivery, trough performance and followup of construction engineering.
He/ She reports to the Deputy Project Manager (DPM).
Main Activities
ensure the reviews of Detailed Engineering documentation provided from the Client to approve its constructability
makes necessary comments and requests to optimize and facilitate future Construction Engineering which will be its responsibility
ensures effective coordination through weekly meetings, liaising with Clients lead discipline Engineers to defend remarks relative to Detail Engineering
ensures effective start-up of Construction Engineering activities with Deputy Project Manager), the kick-off meetings with engineering Subcontractors to ensure objectives and responsibilities are well understood
participates to the induction of the engineering team to Contract/ Project requirements
establish and maintain an effective Construction Engineering organization, which is compatible with the Project organization responsibilities, policies and Project objectives, (manpower, resources, interfaces, reviews and meetings)
ensures the deployment of in-house applications, submitting the best suitable configuration relative to project requirement and writing procedures relatives to the integration of those tools into the project process
ensures effective interdisciplinary coordination through weekly meetings. Liaise with lead discipline engineers and/or subcontractors to resolve any specific issue related to their respective areas including technical, schedule and resources issues
submits to the DPM the necessary technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines
controls that the engineering team properly interfaces with other project members
supervises the issue of engineering deliverables and approves the key multidisciplinary documents
ensures that engineering activity is compliant with project milestones. Alerts DPMr in case of unforeseen variation and suggests if needed mitigation measures
ensures effective technical coordination with Client's representatives and as such participates to good communication with Client
ensures that the adopted technical solutions applied are in line with the project’s cost and time schedule objectives, taking appropriate action to avoid, absorb or minimize deviations
controls and monitors the implementation of Engineering changes in all disciplines
ensures that the engineering final dossier is properly prepared and filed and that lessons learned for Engineering are clearly identified
Secondary Activities:
participate to the Contract review on technical part
participates to Contract management by initiating, collecting and consolidating the variation requests and change orders
participates in planning definition by providing engineering milestones and requirements
Profile Wanted
Knowledge/Experience:
Mechanical engineering degree with experiences in the Upstream Oil&Gas industry
Knowledge in main industry standards (ASME, AWS)
General knowledge of the company's businesses
Technical knowledge of main engineering disciplines concerned (Civil, piping, structure, mechanical)
