Videographer at Stand To End Rape Initiative

Posted on Thu 31st Oct, 2024 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (0 comments)

Stand To End Rape Initiative (STER) is a youth-led social enterprise advocating against sexual violence, providing prevention mechanisms, and supporting survivors with psychosocial services. We advocate for rape survivors who can’t speak about their ordeal due to stigmatisation, by enlightening our community on the need to end rape and victim-blaming.

STER was started with the firm belief that no survivor should suffer in silence and that comprehensive support systems are crucial for their healing and justice. We strive to create a society that stands against rape, supports survivors, and holds perpetrators accountable. Our ultimate goal is to eradicate rape and create a safe and inclusive Nigeria for all.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Videographer

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full Time

Scope of Work
30-40 Minute Documentary Production:

  • Collaborate closely with the STER team to develop a clear narrative structure, key themes and the overall message of the documentary, ensuring alignment with STER’s vision and goals.
  • Develop a comprehensive filming schedule and shot list in collaboration with the STER team to capture important visuals and key moments.
  • Conduct on-location filming at various sites identified by STER, capturing high-definition (HD) footage with professional cameras, lighting and audio equipment.
  • Record interviews, b-roll and additional scenes that support the documentary’s narrative, ensuring multiple takes when necessary for quality.
  • Use backup storage and additional equipment to safeguard all captured footage.
  • The final documentary will be delivered in both high-definition (HD) for broadcast and optimised formats for web streaming (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo), ensuring quick load times while maintaining visual quality.

Editing and Post-Production:

  • Work closely with the STER team to review all footage, crafting a compelling and cohesive story that aligns with the organization’s vision.
  • Edit the documentary to ensure smooth transitions, clear narrative flow and a well-paced storyline, adding music, sound effects and audio balancing for emotional depth.
  • Use color grading and visual enhancements to ensure a consistent, polished and professional look.
  • Add English subtitles to the entire documentary for accessibility, ensuring they are accurate, time-synced and do not obstruct key visuals.
  • Provide translations into additional languages (e.g., Pidgin English or local dialects) if necessary, based on STER’s target audience.
  • Submit drafts of the documentary for STER’s review at key stages, incorporating feedback to ensure the final version aligns with the organization’s messaging.

Short-Form Version for Social Media:

  • Create a concise 2-3 minute version of the documentary, highlighting the main message and visuals, tailored for sharing on social media platforms.
  • Adapt the short-form version to meet platform-specific requirements, such as square (1:1) or vertical (9:16) formats for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.
  • Ensure the short-form version includes clear calls to action and engaging elements to maximize audience interaction and engagement.

Alignment with STER’s Vision and Messaging:

  • Maintain close collaboration with STER’s communications, advocacy and programs teams to ensure the documentary aligns with the organization’s core values, vision and messaging.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions to maintain storytelling consistency and alignment with STER’s goals.
  • Ensure that the documentary adheres to STER’s branding guidelines, including the use of logos, fonts and colour schemes.

Teaser Clips for Social Media:

  • Create 30-to 60-second teaser clips from the most impactful moments of the documentary, designed to capture audience’s attention on social media.
  • Teasers will include powerful quotes, emotional highlights and captivating visuals, optimised for platform-specific formats (e.g., Instagram Stories, YouTube Shorts, TikTok).

Raw Footage:

  • Provide all raw, unedited footage to STER in an organised format, including interviews, b-roll and additional scenes that may be used for future projects.
  • Footage will be delivered in commonly compatible formats (e.g., MP4, MOV) for easy access and editing by STER’s team. The footage will be organised by date, location and content type for clarity.

Additional Components:

  • Curate or create an original soundtrack that enhances the emotional tone and message of the documentary.
  • Record professional voiceovers to provide narration, context or explanations where needed to support the storyline.
  • Incorporate motion graphics, titles and on-screen text to emphasize key points, data or facts presented in the documentary.

Final Delivery Formats:

  • Deliver the completed documentary and social media versions in multiple formats optimized for both web and broadcast (e.g., MP4, MOV).
  • Ensure that the deliverables are accessible across various devices and platforms (desktop, mobile and tablet).

Requirements

  • Proven experience in videography with a portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • Ability to work on location across Nigeria.
  • Strong editing and post-production skills.
  • Timely project delivery and flexibility.
  • Experience working with nonprofits or on social impact projects is a plus.
