The overarching goal of JAREI is to enhance the well-being of vulnerable populations, including women, youth, children, and individuals with disabilities, through the implementation of sustainable livelihood initiatives. The organization thematic areas will include on food security and livelihood, education, child protection and protection, nutrition, healthcare provision, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs, both in humanitarian and development settings through strategic sustainable interventions, policy development and advocacy that will improve the lives of affected people we serve.

Job Title: Program Manager
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: 1 year
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Program Manager to lead strategic partnerships, grants management, and program implementation in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States.
This role is integral to the success of JAREI’s projects in these regions, focusing on humanitarian interventions, capacity building, and sustainable community development.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership: Lead and oversee the implementation of all program activities in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States, ensuring alignment with JAREI’s strategic goals and objectives.
Grants Management: Manage all aspects of grant cycles, including proposal writing, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with donor requirements.
Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain partnerships with local, national, and international stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, and other NGOs.
Team Management: Supervise and mentor program staff, ensuring effective team performance and capacity building.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Collaborate with the M&E team to track project performance, outcomes, and impact, and make data-driven decisions to improve program effectiveness.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth program execution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Represent JAREI at meetings, conferences, and forums to build the organization’s visibility and influence in the region.
Any other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience: At least 3 years of experience leading program interventions as a team lead or officer with an NGO.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field. A masters degree Is a plus.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing teams, fostering collaboration, and mentoring junior staff.
Partnerships & Networking: Strong ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and local organizations.
Grants Management: Proven track record in managing grants, including proposal development, budgeting, reporting and advocacy.
M&E: Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks.
Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Communication and Influencing Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Presentation Skills: Proven ability to make presentations on results and products to small and large groups.
Languages: Proven writing and speaking skills using local languages and English language.
Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently or as a member of the team, ability to be detailed-oriented, and ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality on work related matters.
Location Flexibility: Willingness to be based in Borno State with regular travel to Adamawa and Yobe States.
Salary
N150,000 Monthly.
