FairMoney is building the leading mobile bank for emerging markets. We started with a digital microcredit application on Android, and currently roll out additional financial services (current account, savings, debit card) while expanding the product to Western Africa and South-East Asia.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Manager to join our dynamic global Finance team in FairMoney.
The ideal candidate will take up a critical multi-faceted role responsible for a wide range of responsibilities covering treasury and liquidity analysis, managing finances for new entities, supporting M&A activity, managing liabilities (deposit mobilisation), driving board and investor reporting, and aiding in international expansion efforts.
This role also involves collaborating with consultants, auditors, and legal counsel to ensure the company’s financial health and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury and Liquidity Analysis:
Conduct weekly and monthly liquidity analysis to ensure optimal cash flow management.
Monitor and report on the company’s liquidity position and forecast future cash flows.
Identify and mitigate potential liquidity risks.
Deposit Mobilisation Management:
Perform analyses to help manage and grow the firm’s deposits including pricing analyses, develop appropriate incentivisation programmes
Report on deposit mobilisation operation periodically and own the assessment of deposit rates
Develop strategies to optimize the company’s liability structure.
Board and Investor Reporting:
Own preparation of group board reports and presentations for investors.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of board decks and investor reports (quarterly cycle)
Provide support during board meetings and investor calls.
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Support:
Assist in the evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities.
Perform financial due diligence and valuation analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate acquired businesses.
Financial Management for New Entities:
Oversee the financial and accounting setup for new business entities.
Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
Develop, implement and manage/control financial policies and procedures for new entities.
International Expansion:
Assist with the incorporation of new entities as part of the company’s international expansion program.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and requirements in new markets.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth setup and operation of new entities.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct various ad hoc financial analyses as required by management.
Provide insightful financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) viewed favourably
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with a focus on liquidity management, financial analysis, or M&A activities.
Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Understanding of banking and financial services business model and unit economics.
