Duties and Responsibilities
As a wealth manager, you will guide and support our clients in achieving their financial objectives.
Your primary responsibility will include acquisition of clients, developing personalized financial plans, managing portfolios and providing expert advice on various financial matters, such as taxes, insurance and risk management.
Tasks
Drive and grow client investments and assets. Prospect, acquire and manage the portfolio of clients’ investments (sustain and grow a portfolio of clients of HNI and Qualified investors by building long term relationships).
Organise client meetings to make investment pitches, and discuss financial goals, risk tolerance and investment preferences.
Develop personalised wealth management strategies, including investment planning, portfolio allocation and retirement planning aligned with client's objectives and risk profiles.
Monitor and review clients' financial progress regularly, ensuring alignment with their objectives and making adjustments.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis of investments, tax laws, and other financial matters to provide informed advice.
Evaluate investment opportunities, considering factors like risk, return potential and liquidity.
Provide ongoing financial advice and guidance to clients, keeping them informed about market trends, investment opportunities, and potential risks.
Create detailed financial plans, including cash flow projections, retirement planning, and tax optimisation strategies.
Monitor and review investment performance, conducting periodic portfolio rebalancing to align with clients' objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams such as tax advisors, legal professionals and estate planners to coordinate complex financial transactions, such as estate transfers and charitable giving and other comprehensive financial solutions to clients.
Participate in industry conferences and seminars to expand knowledge and network with potential clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
BA Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent.
4+ years of experience as a wealth manager or in financial services, including knowledge of client acquisition, developing and implementing financial plans and managing investments.
Experience in serving high-net-worth individuals and understanding their unique wealth management needs.
Understanding of financial markets, investment products, and wealth management principles.
Proficiency in financial analysis tools, portfolio management software, CRM systems and MS Office suite.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients. Candidate must be result oriented.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in explaining complex financial concepts to clients.
Familiarity with Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and financial planning strategies specific to the Nigerian market.
Ability to develop innovative financial solutions.
