Job Summary
The Head of Operations will oversee, optimize, and drive all operational aspects of Nairametrics to achieve both strategic and day-to-day goals.
This role involves collaborating across departments to streamline processes, manage HR responsibilities, spearhead special projects, and ensure the team aligns with company objectives.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with experience in media operations, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering impact in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Drive the operational execution of Nairametrics' business strategy and goals, collaborating closely with the CEO.
Develop and implement scalable processes to support business growth and ensure efficient use of resources.
Identify and execute key projects that align with organizational goals, setting timelines, deliverables, and measuring outcomes.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives and corporate objectives.
Human Resources and People Management:
Lead and oversee HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and talent retention.
Develop and maintain a positive workplace culture that aligns with Nairametrics' core values: Innovation, Execution, Impact, Growth, and Optimization.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews and ensure staff meet performance targets; manage underperformance by developing improvement plans or re-assigning roles as necessary.
Manage employee relations, handle disciplinary actions, and foster a culture of accountability.
Project Management and Operational Efficiency:
Lead key projects from conception through execution, establishing metrics for success and adjusting plans based on data-driven insights.
Establish clear processes for operational tasks, streamline workflows, and ensure adherence to company policies.
Develop and maintain an efficient system for task and project management, ensuring timely deliverables across departments.
Oversee finance-related projects, ensuring adherence to budgeting, invoicing, and payment policies, including compliance with internal financial controls.
Performance and Process Improvement:
Analyze operational processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Regularly review and update operational policies to ensure they align with company growth and industry standards.
Implement and oversee KPIs for all departments, driving operational success and maintaining high-performance standards.
Conduct bi-annual reviews of company policies and procedures, ensuring they adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
Stakeholder Management and Communication:
Act as a bridge between departments, ensuring effective communication and alignment with company-wide initiatives.
Collaborate with senior leadership to establish regular reporting mechanisms and provide insights on project status, risks, and opportunities.
Liaise with external stakeholders as required, representing Nairametrics in discussions that impact operational planning and strategic alignment.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field or an MBA is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an operations management role, preferably in the media, technology, or financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
Skills:
Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and driving operational efficiency.
Strong people management skills, with experience overseeing HR functions, managing teams, and building company culture.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships effectively.
Familiarity with financial controls, budgeting, and compliance management.
