Job Description

• We are seeking a creative Head of design to join our Designteam. The ideal candidatewill be responsible for shaping and driving the creative vision of the company.
• He/Shewill lead the design department, ensuring that all design initiatives align with the company’s strategic objectives and brand identity.
• This role involves managing a team of designers, overseeing the execution of design projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality design solutions, and also have the ability to lead and inspire a team to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the design process, ensuring high-quality and brand-consistent output across all projects.
• Strategy Development: Collaborate with executive teams to define and implement design strategies that align with business objectives.
• Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to delivery, ensuring all deadlines and quality expectations are met.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the design team, providing guidance and support for professional growth.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to ensure design solutions meet business requirements.
• Innovation and Trends: Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and technology, and integrate cutting-edge techniques into the team’s work.
• Budget Management: Manage the design department’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Brand Consistency: Maintain and update the company’s brand guidelines, ensuring all
• design output remains consistent with brand standards.
• Quality Control: Review and approve all final designs, ensuring they meet the company’s
• high standards for quality, creativity, and functionality.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in architectural design.
• Train and supervise team membersensuring compliance with standard operating procedureson all designs and workflow.
• Provide regular design status reports to Management and clients.
• Send monthly report to Management.
• Carry out any other duty as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectureor other relevant fields.
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience in a similar role in architectural or construction industry is an added advantage.
• Professional certification or equivalent are preferred.
• Master Degree is an added advantage
• Demonstrate a high level portfolio of work and design knowledge.
• Experience in developing design processes and inspiring innovative approaches.
• Excellent presentation skills
• Excellent organizational skills including time management, planning, meeting deadlines,and setting objectives.
• Ability to develop design processes and procedures to meet the needs of the business for now and future
• Ability to motivate and inspire team members and other colleagues.
• Ability to develop strong internal/external client relationships
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams is an advantage.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

Preferred Candidate:

• Proficient in advanced and emerging technologies, well-versed in design patterns and trends.
• Proven capacity as a pioneer, tackling significant challenges through experimentation, practical empathy, and data-driven analysis.
• Strong background in platform-led growth companies with a demonstrated ability to guide the application and value of design systems to designers, engineers, and product managers.
• Expertise in strategic thinking, leadership, innovation, creativity, resourcefulness, platform expertise, analytics, design patterns, experimentation, team building, and design systems.
• Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decisions and drive operational improvements.
• A proactive problem solver who can anticipate and address challenges before they escalate.
• Exceptional capacity for making sound judgments in high-pressure environments.
• Clear, unambiguous communicator who is effectively responsive across multiple communication channels.
• Have an understanding of architectural design and experience in construction industry is a plus.

Salary
N150,000 - N300,000 monthly.
