Positions are field based and support the Cluster Security Manager/ Security lead to manage the security of Production nodes/cluster of assets in the West production asset of The Shell Petroleum Development Company.
This position will support security risk management of the production units, comprised of flow stations, wellheads , linear assets, and other production facilities of associated locations, and activities thus contributing to achieving safety and production targets to maximize business profitability and protect shell group reputation.
While a background in industrial security could be an advantage, Shell offers opportunity for in-role learning and professional development therefore position would suit a candidate with up to 3 years background in IT, consulting, logistics, manufacturing, Finance or oil and gas willing to develop a long-term career as a security professional.
This position provides oversight function toto Security Supervisors and Technical Support Personnel in the various field locations within the production unit.(TSP).
This field-based positions are back-to-back and alternated to the cluster security manager/lead, who has responsibility for the numerous Well heads and connecting flow stations that deliver crude to the respective flow stations.
S/He will support project security for ongoing activities within the area, in addition to managing all security-related risks to Shell people, facilities, and operational activities in these areas.
Responsibility will include coordinating the activities of Government Security Agencies (GSAs) and other third-party security personnel as applicable to provide robust, fit-for-purpose and prompt security coverage underpinned by Goal Zero.
Incumbent may implement 3rd party contract requirements services on behalf of the cluster security lead and/or contract holder. He/she will liaise with Security Supervisors who are Security Focal Points, CLOs, Logistics, and other service provider in location.
Accountabilities
Frontline security support to Asset parties at multiple levels
Analysis of crime trend for decision making.
Facilitate the close out of outstanding security gaps/actions raised from the Production Unit.
Supports in implementation of Security audit outcomes and SRA actions.
Review and update Facility Security Plan (FSP) of various field facilities.
Liaise with and support interface with project teams, pipelines, contractors etc
Ensure prompt payment of GSAs allowance and security vendors invoices and continue to liaise with them for the security of asset.
Periodic presentation of security lectures and briefs to location personnel.
Delivery of security operations support to Asset and other functional teams in the Production Unit when needed in line with National, SPDC and Group Security policies, standards, and guidelines.
Effective implementation of access control measures within the Production Unit
Efficient and effective supervision of Supernumerary Police (SPY) and other Security resources deployed to the production unit to counter threats to SPDC operations, assets, and personnel in the PU.
Provide input to managing threat to business activities and implement actions to manage and mitigate them.
Driving the safety-first mindset amongst staff, contractors, and GSAs.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the security dynamics across the Niger Delta, especially the swamp area.
Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders (GSA, SPY, Logistics, etc) to ensure standards and procedures are adhered to.
Driving attitudinal change amongst staff and imbedding security awareness through regular engagements and briefings
Requirements
What we need from you?
At least a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution. A post-graduate qualification will be an advantage.
A professional industrial security certification to be concluded within the first 2 years on the role.
A knowledge of E&P business, especially in the Onshore/Swamp environment or up to 3 years of experience – in IT, industrial security, consulting, manufacturing, or Logistics.
Position ideal for a quick learner, willing to build skills in security risk management and who has worked in a complex environment and provided solutions to business challenges.
Knowledge of E & P business and understanding of Niger Delta environment could be an advantage.
