Job Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing sales activities within a specific geographic region.
his role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building and maintaining dealership relationships, and driving revenue growth in the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and objectives within the assigned region. Identify market opportunities, analyse competitive landscape, and develop strategies to maximize market share and profitability.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team within the region. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance and achievement of sales goals. Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear objectives for the team.
Dealer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with dealership networks within the region. Collaborate with dealers to develop sales programs, promotions, and incentives to drive sales volume and increase customer satisfaction.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for growth within the region. Gather insights into customer needs and competitor activities to inform sales strategies.
Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate relationships with key customers, fleet accounts, and other stakeholders within the region. Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales Forecasting and Planning: Forecast sales volumes, revenues, and expenses for the region. Develop annual sales budgets and plans, monitor performance against targets, and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives.
New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the region, including expansion into new market segments or territories. Develop relationships with potential customers and partners to generate leads and drive business growth.
Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest automotive products, technologies, and industry trends. Provide product training and support to the sales team and dealerships to ensure thorough understanding and effective selling techniques.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all sales activities. Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, contracts, and customer interactions.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular sales reports, performance metrics, and market intelligence updates for management review. Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Proven record of accomplishment of success with experience in sales management or leadership roles.
6 years of experience in a sales role.
Proven knowledge of effective sales strategies and best practices
Substantial track record of exceeding sales quotas and goals
Excellent leadership skills
Keen attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Outgoing and service-oriented attitude
Knowledge of inventory control and management
